Our larch cladding is chosen from the very best sawmills. What makes it such a good wood to work with is how resistant it is to lots of wood diseases and rot, this means when using larch for construction or decoration, you can almost guarantee that it is going to be durable and last a long time. Using this wood also has a lot of aesthetic benefits too, larch has a very good finish that is full of character as well as being practical to use.

Our larch cladding is supplied in random lengths of 3m and longer.

What sort of profiles does this Cladding come in?

Our cladding comes in a while range of cuts which you can select depending on your needs.  You can get your larch in profiles ranging from tongue and groove to shiplap and a channel/shadow gap.

Colour and durability

The colour of Siberian larch can vary from a dark brown to a pale yellow.  Larch is very slow grown and has an unusually high durability factor for a softwood species.  Due to its high density, Larch is perfect for projects such as schools or shopping complexes where impact may occur.

Durability
Larch is a class 3 durability rated product, which is moderately durable.  

Dimensional Stability
Larch has a movement rating of medium.

Thermal Conductivity
With a conductivity rating of (y10) of approximately 0.13 W/(mk) it is an excellent species to keep heat in.

Density
The density of Larch is 570 - 650kg per m3.  Moisture content at time of installation should be 16% +/- 4%.

Workability
Larch can be machined to achieve a fantastic finish, but beware that due to the density of the product it is advised that regular sharpening of the blades is recommended.  It is also suggested that screwing instead of nailing is preferable to avoid splitting.

 

Size is nominal at 25x150, finished thickness after machining is 20mm x 140mm
